DAY SIX MONDAY 21 OCTOBER BAZTAN VALLEY

After a good night’s sleep we awoke to partly sunny skies and a few puffy clouds hanging over the mountain. We need toast and coffee and found the Bar Saioa open for business. Hit the spot nicely and they are open until 1100PM for late night food after Dave & Joyce arrive this evening.
Paul walked across the street to the Chinese Bazar looking for a computer mouse to replace the one left in Zaragoza by mistake. Ultimately we found a mouse at the Simply department store on the by pass road. 1.99 euros wired for the travel netbook. They want 35 euros for the wireless version which we skipped.

We drove up to the cemetery to visit Miguel’s grave and to say hello to our old friend with a fresh rosey pink flower plant. The grounds crew were busy cutting and weeding as the end of the month is the fiesta to honor the families departed members.

Paul wanted to take a photo or two and so we headed to Arizcun for lunch and a photo opt. No lunch as our usual was locked tight on Monday lunchtime. We drove out of town down the the four corners intersection with the road to France and spotted an Asador Ordoki, new to us which,  Paul promptly butchered , by calling it the Onkey Donkey place. The young chap behind the bar lead us into the bar room filled with 3 long rows of bench tables and several smaller 4 tops to have a seat. The 3 boys waiting tables were not terribly organized running back and forth and into the kitchen. The head cook was tending to huge steak chops on the barbecue grill that were at least 3” inches thick but tasty looking. We watched him wield a fierce meat cleaver on a huge rack of beef!

Paul had garbanzos and pork chops, Jane had ensalada Russa and a beef stew. The food was outstanding we both like the Okey Dockey for sure. Still early afternoon, time for a quick siesta before David sends a text that they are in the air from Gatwick to Bilbao Spain. We got a text that they have landed in Bilbao now for the suitcases and rental car in order to hit the road. Just an hour and a half, no traffic and they made to the Posada. 2015 Hrs. Dave & Joyce are at the Posada looking to join up with us.

We had a nice reunion and headed of  for tapas at Bar Saioa and a chat to catch up with ole friends. We talked, we ate, talked some more, ate and drank some more and finally decided at 2300, stomachs full, that it was time to call it a day. We drove back to the posada to drop off Dave and Joyce and we returned to the apartment. We are tired!
Buenos Noches all!
